Un libro el de Waldo lleno de sorpresas. Como �l mismo dice, bueno para que est� ah�, para que la gente no olvide de qu� se trata toda esta historia.

Acabo de leer el libro y lo considero un gran testimonio de un cubano mas, conoci a Waldo personalmente aqui en EEUU, fui a alguna de las fiestas "de traje" (traje cerveza, traje ron, traje bocaditos) que daba cada a�o alrededor del 8 de Diciembre en su casa, ya que en esta fecha, se conmemora el aniversario del asesinato de John Lennon y lamento mucho que Waldo ya no este con nosotros, en este mundo de los vivos. No habia comprado este libro antes porque queria tenerlo en papel, pero eso creo que no va ha poder ser y por tanto lo adquiri en kindle. Es uno de esos libros que una vez que lo empesaste a leer no lo puedes dejar hasta que termines. Algunas de las cosas que Waldo relata son dificil de creer para el que no sea cubano y sobre todo de esa epoca, ya que para las nuevas generaciones de cubanos quizas les sea dificil, yo si le creo, aunque no estuve preso nunca, si, tuve amistades que estuvieron presos por tratar de salir de Cuba clandestinamente y otros por fugarse del SMO. Recomiendo este libro, exelente trabajo de alguien que no fue escritor, ni pretendia serlo. Waldo fue un gran hombre que mantuvo su sentido del humor aun cuando sabia que le quedaba poco les decia a los que lo iban a ver al hospital, que en relidad ya el estaba muerto pero que estaba esperando por el papeleo que habia que hacer que demoraba mucho. Que Dios lo tenga en su seno. Siempre te recordaremos con mucha admiracion y cari�o.

In the begining, it was entertaining and funny. At the end, it sounded to me like an science fiction movie. Being cuban and lived in that country and its opression system, it is very hard to believe that the author ( who just passed away. RIP) could do all the actions that he described. It was more of a super hero adventure than a truth to reality book. Sorry.

This important book shows how to choose from the growing array of program evaluation approaches.

The authors have compiled vital information from the evaluation literature and draw on a wide range of practical experience. Using this book, evaluators will be able to identify, analyze, and judge 26 evaluation approaches and to apply the Joint Committee Program Evaluation Standards to discriminate between legitimate and illicit approaches.

Recognizing that no single evaluation approach is always best, the authors assist evaluators to select approaches that best fit a particular evaluation assignment. A case drawn from housing and community development illustrates the application of six noteworthy approaches: experimental design, case study, Stufflebeam's CIPP Model, Scriven's consumer-oriented evaluation, Stake's responsive evaluation, and Patton's utilization-focused evaluation.

About the Author
Daniel L. Stufflebeam, Ph.D., is Distinguished University Professor and Harold and Beulah McKee Professor of Education at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo. He founded the Evaluation Center at Ohio State University in 1965 and was its director until 2002.

Anthony J. Shinkfield, Ed.D., has served in numerous positions in education leadership, including assistant director, Research and Planning Directorate, Education Department of South Australia. He is currently involved in the evaluation of independent schools and universities in Australia.

Excellent overview of evaluation methodology

I bought this text as I am doing an Evaluation subject in my Masters degree, and Daniel Stufflebeam is considered one of the experts in the field. The text is extremely comphrensive in it's coverage of evaluation methodology, and covers most of the literature in the field of program evaluation. Evaluation methodology is quite complex and the choices of what method can be overwhelming. There is good critique throughout and it covers evaluation in government, social services, not for profit, for profit and education.

I would say this is the worst book I've ever read

I would say this is the worst book I've ever read. Having a Ph.D in the field of research and evaluation, I find this book EXTREMELY trivial. The points are very difficult to figure out, and the logic behind sentences are jumping. An idea a sentence can deliver will be developed into many sentences. It is more of a headache even than stats books. If you are going to buy it, I would definitely recommend you read some chapters online and then decide if you like it. 99.9% of chance you will understand what I am saying.
