Wow!

I read this book as a boy in elementary school. I kept it, and read it several times before one of my brothers disappeared it. I remember it by heart. It has some of the finest, most clear descriptive writing about flying I have ever read. Flying two up in a P-51, almost wishboneing out the bottom hatch of a B-24 with a view camera strapped to his stomach, sifting graphite powder into the cameras because the oil froze at high altitude, the Ploesti mission, and the scene near the end in the circle of tanks.... Joswick is a photographer, a writer, and a hero without fear. Wow!
